GPMA conducted an in-depth assessment of the Armenian wine sector to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on its performance and export dynamics.

Key project activities included:

  • Comprehensive Sector Analysis:
    A thorough examination of the structure, production trends, and export capacity of Armenia’s wine sector, identifying key vulnerabilities and opportunities under pandemic conditions.

  • Export Market Review:
    Analysis of Armenia’s primary wine export destinations over the past two years, focusing on changes in trade volumes, market access, and logistical disruptions.

  • Root Cause Analysis:
    Investigated the underlying factors contributing to shifts in demand and supply across export markets, helping stakeholders understand variations in consumption, distribution, and pricing.

This assessment supported evidence-based policy discussions and helped identify potential recovery strategies for the post-pandemic development of the wine sector in Armenia.
