As part of this technical assistance initiative, GPMA supported the justice sector reforms in Armenia through strengthening internal control and internal audit systems within beneficiary institutions. Key activities included:
Diagnostic Assessment: Evaluated the current state of internal control and internal audit practices across the beneficiary institutions, including available human resources, and benchmarked them against national legislation and EU public sector standards.
Development of Improvement Plans: Designed tailored action plans aimed at enhancing the internal control environment and internal audit functions of the institutions involved.
Training and Capacity Building: Developed and delivered formal training sessions to relevant staff and management, focused on the fundamentals and application of internal control and internal audit.
Hands-On Institutional Support: Provided ongoing advisory and coaching to beneficiary institutions, guiding them through the practical enhancement of their internal control and audit procedures.
This assignment contributed to aligning Armenia’s justice sector governance systems with EU best practices and enhancing institutional accountability and transparency.
